Wolves deal can be closed for less than €10m – Several clubs interested
by Kaustubh Pandey · Sport WitnessWolves’ relegation from the Premier League was confirmed late on Monday.
Now, vultures are hovering to pick their squad apart in the summer.
One player who could leave Molineux in the summer is Jackson Tchatchoua, who arrived from Hellas Verona in 2025.
The move came after the right-back impressed in Serie A during the 2024/25 campaign. This had led to a host of Italian giants monitoring his situation before Wolves paid €12.5m to land him.
Sport Witness covered the deal extensively, with Everton also keen on Tchatchoua at the time.
At that point, the deal seemed like a bargain. Now, Rob Edwards’ side can lose the full-back for a loss in the summer.
Clubs already circling
Tuttomercatoweb look at the 24-year-old, making it clear that Wolves’ relegation will hand a big opportunity to Italian clubs to bring Tchatchoua back to Serie A.
A few were interested in January. Bologna were especially keen but they ended up signing Joao Mario from Juventus.
Wolves are said to have wanted €10m in the winter market, and the assumption is they’ll accept less now.
Tchatchoua still has a reputation in Italy and this can become important at the end of the campaign.
Our take: Tchatchoua shouldn’t rush into decision
The right-back wouldn’t want to play in the Championship, especially as his stock did grow at Verona. The Italian club flirted with relegation in the 2024/25 campaign but Jackson Tchatchoua was key in helping them survive.
The Belgium-born right-back shouldn’t rush into a decision. He is 24, approaching the peak of his powers and wasn’t awful at Wolves by any means.
His next destination could end up defining his career and he wouldn’t want the Wolves stint to do that. A club like Bologna would suit him. They are one of the more stable Serie A sude and have also played in Europe for two seasons in a row.
As for Edwards’ side, they can use this interest to make sure they earn as much as possible and don’t sanction a loan.
