Evan Ndicka to Manchester United in exchange for Joshua Zirkzee – Plan floated in Italy
by Kaustubh Pandey · Sport WitnessAS Roma have been attempting to sign Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee for many weeks now.
While a deal is likely to progress late in January, talks between the clubs have taken place. During these, it seems like a player piqued the interest of many at Old Trafford.
ASRomaLive report that the man in question is Rome centre-back Evan Ndicka, who has been a pillar for them in the last few seasons.
Manchester United asked about the Ivorian during talks regarding Zirkzee. The outlet describe the initial contact as ‘exploratory enquiries’, with Ndicka’s stock constantly on the rise.
Swap of permanent transfers in summer
Ruben Amorim’s side now see the left-footed defender as a target for next summer. It is suggested that Manchester United could ask for Ndicka in exchange for Zirkzee, when Roma sign the Dutchman permanently.
The Giallorossi are working on an initial loan deal with a conditional obligation buy for the striker. They would obviously pay the loan fee but instead of asking for cash, Amorim’s side can float the idea of sending Ndicka to Manchester next summer.
The 26-year-old joined on a free transfer in 2023 after his contract at Eintracht Frankfurt expired. His deal at the Olimpico expires in 2028 but Roma will make a big capital gain, if they sell him between 2026 and 2027.
