Nottingham Forest in scouting trip to watch player branded “best player” in league ready for PL transfer
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessNottingham Forest may be a side to keep an eye on in the developing race for Club Brugge midfielder Ardon Jashari.
That’s at least according to Voetbal Primeur, who report that Nottingham Forest are one of several Premier League sides to have recently scouted the 22-year-old.
They report that Jashari is the name on everyone’s lips at Brugge at this moment in time, particularly after Pep Guardiola praised him publically earlier in the season.
The midfielder has been impressing for moths and the Premier League have taken notice of him, with several sending scouts to watch the clash against Aston Villa in the Champions League last week.
VP report that Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham, Newcastle, Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Brighton were in the main stand of the Jan Breydel stadium to watch the midfielder in action.
He made an impression in that game and built on a growing reputation that has him as the key player at Brugge and one of the best in the Jupiler Pro League.
Former Burnley midfielder Steven Defour certainly thinks so, praising the midfielder today and basically urging Nottingham Forest and others to move for him after their recent scouting trips.
“He is the best player in our league and perhaps even one of the best of the last ten years,” he said.
“His combination of energy, aggression and calmness on the ball is unique. He reads the game excellently and is technically strong enough to compete at the highest level.
“The time when it was all about running and pounding is long gone. His dynamism and way of playing forward would not be out of place at a team from the English sub-top.”
