Manchester United told €60m for midfielder – Follows confidence of move to OT

Last week, journalist Francesco Teodori boldly claimed that AS Roma’s Manu Kone will end up at Manchester United in the summer.

She was confident the Frenchman is keen on a switch to Old Trafford, with Inter Milan having tried to land him in 2025.

Kone scored for Roma against Genoa on Monday, helping his side to a 3-1 win. This sent out a message of how prominent he is for the Italian club.

This hasn’t stopped talk around him from growing.

Calciomercato IT report he is still a dream for Inter Milan. Roma don’t want to sell in January, preferring a summer move.

Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid interest is also mentioned. This widespread interest could create an auction for the France international.

Roma sporting director Ricky Massara is aware of all this. Interest from multiple clubs means that Manchester United would have to pay €60m for Kone, which feels ambitious from Roma.

That is more than he was valued at when Inter Milan came calling. Such a fee is inflated, although Manchester United have experienced similar with multiple arrivals from Serie A.

The 24-year-old’s current contract in Rome runs until 2029. That will be given the club confidence they can stick to their guns over Kone.
