Milan, Italy, 14th February 2026. Lega Calcio Serie A Season 2025-2026, FC Internazionale v Juventus FC, Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. Francesco Pio Esposito of FC Internazionale celebrates after scoring to give the hosts a 2-1 lead during the match.

Over the past few weeks, Sport Witness have closely monitored Arsenal’s interest in Inter Milan’s Francesco Pio Esposito.

There is little surprise about it, with the Italian reaching new heights this season. He was one of the best players in Serie B during his loan stint at Spezia in the 2024/25 season, before returning to the Nerazzurri.

In the ongoing campaign, he has two Champions League goals. In all competitions, he has contributed to 13 goals in all competitions, which is the biggest indicator of how far he has come.

Arguably, the striker is one of the best players in the world. More has now emerged about Inter’s stance over interest from Arsenal.

Gunners above all in for Esposito

L’Interista report on the youngster, making it clear that he is seen as Inter’s future.

The Nerazzurri’s Champions League exit has convinced them about forming a young spine. This makes them keen on forming a squad around Esposito and they wouldn’t even accept €100m to execute his sale.

‘Most notably Arsenal’ are interested, but there is also the intrigue of other Premier League clubs. Inter have no intention of accepting any offers, though, and are confident that they have the player in their grasp for the long-term.

Keeping him at the club is part of a new youth policy, which is seeing them target Ismael Kone, Pietro Comuzzo and Aleksandar Stankovic.

Arsenal may be being used

Considering how often Arsenal have been talked about, this seems like an attempt to showcase Esposito’s stature and how it has risen.

The 20-year-old’s current contract runs out in 2030. There have been suggestions about a new deal, which can make the Gunners’ task even more difficult.

Besides, the London club spent heavily on Viktor Gyokeres. It would be unlikely that they spend more on another striker.
