“Between today and tomorrow” – Tottenham player’s agent says transfer decision imminent
by Kaustubh Pandey · Sport WitnessOn Saturday, Radu Dragusin’s agent Florin Manea told Rai the Tottenham Hotspur defender prefers a move to AS Roma over Fiorentina.
He made it clear that the transfer will only take off once Spurs give an approval for talks.
Dragusin was described as a gladiator who would naturally suit playing in Rome. The comments were typical for Manea, who talked up a Real Madrid move not long after his client had arrived at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Today, Il Tempo – relayed by VoceGiallorossa, report that Roma have put forward an initial loan with an option to buy on Spurs’ table.
They are awaiting a response from Thomas Frank’s side and can also offer a conditional obligation in their next bid.
This is in line with Manea’s comments, and the Tottenham player’s agent has now spoken again. He’s provided an estimated timeline for when Spurs can respond and make a decision over Roma’s offer.
He told TeleRadioStereo: “The decisive days will be between today and tomorrow. I’d like to avoid talking, but we hope to reach a conclusion in the negotiations with Roma.”
This shows that Dragusin is keen on heading to Roma, as he looks for more game time.
That is probably driving his exit from Tottenham, as the Romania international has played just once since his return from a knee injury.
Tottenham have the power in transfer talks
He has Italian experience from his time at Genoa and Juventus. This will come in handy for Roma, who are competing for a Champions League spot this season.
Clearly, everything will come down to what Tottenham want to let him go. His current deal at the club runs until 2030 and that gives them the power in negotiations.
An exit appears a matter of time, with Spurs waiting for an offer which they deem acceptable. Despite Manea’s hope of an imminent decision, his gladiator may have to wait a few more days.
There’s no reason for Tottenham to rush.
