Marcus Rashford now closer to Manchester United exit – Claim may be more excitement than reality
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessGalatasaray are closing in on an agreement with Manchester United to loan Marcus Rashford until the end of the season.
That’s according to Fotomaç, who report that the two sides are getting closer to an agreement for the forward.
A report earlier today from the same outlet stated that Galatasaray were aiming for a transfer ‘bomb’ with the signing of Rashford before the end of the window.
They stated that Rashford’s name had ‘come to the fore’ at the Turkish club and they were evaluating a deal to sign him from Manchester United on loan until the end of the season.
Galatasaray value the transfer as it would benefit them on the pitch and off the pitch. The idea on the pitch is that he could partner Victor Osimhen in a two-man attack, helping to cover the absence of Mauro Icardi to boot.
The report even stated that Galatasaray were willing to pay the rest of Rashford’s salary for the season, something which Manchester United would, presumably, value highly.
Now, in a short post on X, Fotomaç report that Galatasaray are close to signing Rashford. That is all they offer in the post.
We, therefore, would take this with a massive pinch of salt. The reports around Rashford have been rather wild, to say the least, and it is hard to imagine him ending up in Turkey, especially after previous having his eye on the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan.
The idea of Galatasaray paying the rest of his wages this season given he’s known to be earning over £300,000 at Manchester United also seems unlikely given Turkish sides are often very reluctant to spend their money.
Instead, we’d suggest this may be a case of over-excitement from Fotomaç, with much more to be done before Rashford heads anywhere.
