Napoli Make Fresh Demands From Galatasaray Over Osimhen Move, Lookman Attracts Top Clubs

The future of Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen hangs in the balance as Napoli and Galatasaray are yet to reach an agreement over his €75 million permanent move.

Despite Galatasaray’s willingness to match the full asking price for Osimhen, Napoli are digging in their heels, demanding a 20% cut from any future sale, an unusually high sell-on clause that has stalled progress.

Renowned Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu revealed that Napoli’s insistence on the sell-on clause comes on top of rigid payment structure demands.

According to Italian transfer expert Matteo Moretto, the Serie A giants want the remaining €35 million of the transfer fee paid in full before the end of 2026, along with a formal letter of credit to guarantee the transaction.

Galatasaray, for their part, reportedly proposed a €40 million upfront payment, with €35 million spread in instalments, a deal that Napoli rejected. Instead, the Italian club is demanding €55 million immediately, pushing negotiations into a tense stalemate.

Osimhen, 26, has made no secret of his preference for a permanent move to Turkey. According to Fabrizio Romano, the striker submitted a medical certificate to excuse himself from Napoli’s pre-season training under new boss Antonio Conte, further reinforcing his desire to seal the Galatasaray switch. His stellar loan spell at the Turkish club, where he racked up 37 goals and 8 assists in 41 games, has only deepened his commitment to returning.

The Nigerian star has also rebuffed renewed interest from Saudi Arabia, turning down a staggering €30 million-a-year offer from Al-Hilal, despite intense pressure from intermediaries.

As talks linger, the transfer saga is quickly becoming one of the summer’s most dramatic, with Galatasaray eager to close the deal and Napoli refusing to budge unless every demand is met to the letter.

Meanwhile, another Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman, is currently one of the hottest names on the transfer market. The 27-year-old winger reported for Atalanta’s pre-season medicals on Monday amid speculation about his future.

Lookman, who netted 15 goals and contributed 5 assists last season to help Atalanta finish third in Serie A, is now being monitored by Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Napoli, and multiple Premier League clubs.

His form earned him a spot in the Serie A Team of the Season and made him the league’s third-highest scorer, trailing only Mateo Retegui (26) and Moise Kean (19).

According to Claudio Raimondi via Sport Mediaset, Napoli have already tabled an offer of €25 million plus forward Giacomo Raspadori to secure Lookman’s services. While the response from Atalanta remains unclear, the club’s valuation of the player, around €50 million, may complicate the negotiation.

Matteo Moretto, speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, confirmed that Lookman has little interest in a Premier League return, making a move to Spain or remaining in Italy far more likely.

“Atletico Madrid are very interested and continue to monitor the situation carefully,” Moretto stated. “Given that, after the Ruggeri deal, the contacts between the two clubs have resumed, and interesting scenarios could open up.”

Barcelona are also believed to be showing interest in Lookman after missing out on Nico Williams.
