Real Madrid Line Up Summer Clear-out As Six Players Face Exit
by Ernest Victor · Naija NewsSpanish giants, Real Madrid are preparing for a sweeping squad overhaul this summer, with up to six players set to leave as the club plots a reset ahead of next season.
According to BILD, the LaLiga side are ready to make decisive changes after an underwhelming campaign, with senior figures among those heading for the exit.
At the centre of the shake-up is David Alaba. The experienced defender is out of contract in June and will not be offered a new deal, effectively bringing his spell at the Bernabeu to a close.
He may not be the only high-profile departure in defence. Antonio Rudiger is also nearing the end of his contract and is expected to move on, while Dani Carvajal faces a similar situation as his current deal runs down.
The potential exit list is not limited to defenders. Eduardo Camavinga could be the standout name to leave, despite his age and importance to the squad. The 23-year-old has attracted interest from clubs across Europe, and Madrid are open to offers in the region of €50 million.
Further changes are expected in the full-back positions. Neither Ferland Mendy nor Fran García are not seen as part of the club’s long-term plans after falling behind in the pecking order.
