Rory McIlroy will get underway in the early afternoon of The Open Championship fresh from completing a career Grand Slam earlier this year.

It’s the 153rd title at the Portrush Royal this time around, and the Holywood native will be looking to make use of home advantage as the world’s best make their way to Antrim.

His caddy, Paddy Diamond, says he’s in good spirits after getting himself acclimatised with his surroundings for Thursday’s opening.
