Irish weather: Huge Allianz League clash falls to poor conditions as match postponed

by · Irish Mirror

Sunday's Allianz Hurling League Division 1 clash between Kilkenny and Limerick has fallen to the weather.

The match has been postponed due to an unplayable pitch, meaning Clare and Wexford is the only game now taking place in Divison 1A on Sunday after Tipperary defeated Cork by 2-22 to 1-21 on Saturday evening.

Limerick GAA tweeted on Sunday morning: "After a pitch inspection in UPMC Nowlan Park, Kilkenny, the Allianz Hurling League Roinn 1A game between Cill Chainnigh v Luimneach is Postponed due to an unplayable pitch."

It is the latest postponement this weekend after the Allianz Football League Divison 3 clash between Sligo and Clare was also cancelled due to the pitch at Markievicz Park being deemed unplayable.

The Allianz Football League Divison 4 clash between Wexford and Wicklow was also postponed. It is understood the decision to cancel that game was taken due to a bereavement.
