Rory McIlroy makes incredible slam dunk hole-in-one at Pebble Beach Pro-Am
by Eamon Doggett · Irish MirrorRory McIlroy hit a slam dunk hole-in-one in the opening round of the first round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
McIlroy hit a wedge on the 119-yard par three 15th hole and it flew straight into the cup without touching the sides.
The Holywood golfer looked as surprised as everyone else when celebrating on the tee at Spyglass Hill Golf Course.
McIlroy's hole-in-one saw him go three-under-par through six holes after starting his round on the 10th hole.
The 35-year-old birdied the 12th hole, the other par three on the back nine, and had three-putted the par-five 14th hole for a par before hitting the ace.
It's only McIlroy's second ever hole-in-one on the PGA Tour.
It comes as the four-time major champion revealed this week that his three remaining career goals are winning the Masters, earning Olympic gold, and clinching another Ryder Cup victory on foreign soil.
"Winning the Masters, winning an Olympic medal and another away Ryder Cup, they are my three goals for the rest of my career," McIlroy told BBC Sport.
