Conor McGregor v Jake Paul boxing fight labelled 's***' as former boxer breaks bout down

Carl Froch would love to see Conor McGregor submit Jake Paul in an MMA fight, but says a boxing bout between the pair would be a gimmick.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul called out McGregor after his win over Mike Tyson last week, stating that he would be open to facing the former two-weight UFC champion in MMA.

Hall of Fame boxer Froch, who branded Paul a 'TikTok dancer' also revealed it would be like 'taking candy from a baby' if he ever fought the 27-year-old.

"If it’s in a boxing ring, it’s a gimmick fight because that’s a fight where you’ve got Jake Paul and Conor McGregor, a legend in the MMA world. If that fight was in the cage, you would tune in to watch Jake Paul get his leg snapped in half or get in a chokehold and watch him tap out. But if you put him in a boxing ring, it’s probably a fight Jake Paul wins dare I say," Froch told Action Network.

"McGregor can’t box but it’s not a fight that’s any good. Who the f*** wants to watch Jake Paul run and hold against Conor McGregor where Conor is trying to throw punches but with no power like when he fought Floyd Mayweather? It’s just s***.

"I’d watch it the next day with the highlights like I did with Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. I got up in the morning and I wasn’t excited to see who won or who lost but to see if there was a chance to see if Mike Tyson had lost the plot and gone for it by chinning him.

"That’s what a lot of people were hoping with something controversial to happen but in reality, it looked like Mike Tyson didn’t even try, and he wasn’t capable even if he did try.

"Maybe if he did try, he might’ve done Jake Paul inside a round but in reality, it’s all a fix and a big con. I can’t believe people still buy into it. I did a report on it because it’s big news for whatever reason on my YouTube and it got big numbers.

Even a 47-year-old Carl Froch would beat him, it would be like taking candy from a baby. "
