Celtic star Adam Idah reacts to possible Champions League meeting with Real Madrid or Bayern Munich
by Mark McCadden · Irish MirrorAdam Idah has reacted to the prospect of a Champions League meeting against either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich - ahead of Friday’s play-off draw.
Celtic will face one of the two massive European clubs, with Manchester City set to face the other, with the winners of those ties up against either Atletico Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen in the last-16.
Idah insists he wouldn't be fazed by a meeting with either Real or Bayern.
He scored two goals inside two minutes on Wednesday night as Celtic bounced back from conceding two early Morgan Rogers goals, to draw level with the Premier League side.
Villa scored two more in the second-half to earn the win, but Celtic had already booked their place in the knockouts ahead of their trip to Birmingham.
Looking ahead to the play-off draw, Ireland striker Idah said: “You want to play these big teams when you are in the Champions League.
“It will be a great test for us. They are one of the best teams in the world and I think everyone will be looking forward to it.
“It will be a good test for ourselves and hopefully we can get a result.”
Idah was delighted to bring a 14-game goal drought to an end with Wednesday’s brace.
“It’s obviously pleasing for me to get the two goals and get the team back,” he said.
“It was a tough game and we dug deep, we did well, but that’s the level we want to be at. We are playing against top teams, we are in the big stages.
“We’ve learned a lot from the game and we’ll push on.”
Reflecting on their progress from the league phase, Idah added: “I think we’ve been fantastic. At the start, if you said we’d be here at this stage we’d take it all day.
“We’ve probably done better. I think we have to have a lot of belief and confidence in ourselves to go as far as we can and that’s what we are trying to achieve.
“We are very excited for the next couple of games and hopefully we can do well.”
