Taylor's professional career began back in late 2016, just months after her heartbreak at the Rio Olympics, when she defeated Karina Szmalenberg at the Wembley Arena in London, winning by TKO in the third round.
Within a year of her pro debut, Taylor won her first world title in her seventh bout when she defeated Anahi Ester Sanchez to claim the WBA lightweight title on the undercard of Anthony Joshua's victory over Carlos Takam at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
That win came three months after US debut at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, while she also fought at Wembley Stadium, the Manchester Arena twice and the O2.
Taylor made the first defence of that title less than two months later when she headlined her first ever show at the famous York Hall, overcoming American Jessica McCaskill in what was a difficult test.
It was back to Brooklyn in April of 2018 as the 2012 Olympic champion claimed the IBF lightweight strap by beating Argentina's Victoria Noelia Bustos.
Further bouts came on big fight nights at at the TD Garden in Boston against Amanda Serrano's sister Cindy and at Madison Square Garden against Eva Wahlstrom before she knocked out Rose Volante at the Liacouras Center to add the WBO belt to her collection.
One of Taylor's toughest tests then came at Madison Square Garden in the summer of 2019 as she defeated Belgian police officer Delfine Persoon by majority decision, with Persoon claiming after the bout that she was "robbed". The bout came on the card which Andy Ruiz stunned Anthony Joshua on to record the biggest victory of his career.
A rematch with Persoon took place the following summer in Eddie Hearn's back garden at Matchroom's HQ due to Covid with Taylor winning via unanimous decision after another thrilling encounter.
Inbetween the two Persoon bouts, Taylor became a two-weight world champion after defeating Christina Linardatou in Manchester to win the WBO super-lightweight belt and less than three months after it she overcame Spaniard Miriam Gutierrez at an empty Wembley Arena before a cracking contest with old amateur rival Natasha Jonas at the Manchester Arena in May 2021, which the Irish fighter won via unanimous decision (96-95, 96-94 and 96-95).
Two more unanimous decision victories came against Jennifer Han and Firuza Sharipova before the end of 2021, with Taylor's first fight against Serrano coming the following April as the pair made history by becoming the first women to headline a boxing event at Madison Square Garden.
Taylor won via split-decision with two judges scoring it 96-93 and 97-93 in her favour, while the other had it 96-94 to Serrano, who to this day believes she won the fight.
The bout was an absolute cracking fight of the year contender and similar fireworks are expected in Texas this weekend.
It has taken two and a half years for the rematch to come to fruition after a number of cancelations, one of which led to Taylor facing Chantelle Cameron in May last year. Prior to that she cruised to victory against Argentina's Karen Elizabeth Carabajal at the Wembley Arena.
Taylor was aiming to become a two-weight undisputed world champion against Cameron, but lost by majority decision as she suffered her first ever pro defeat.
However, she avenged it last November at the 3Arena to become undisputed champion at both lightweight and super-lightweight. Now she aims to defend her 140lb belts against Serrano.
