by · Irish Mirror

Katie Taylor will earn the biggest paycheque of her career win or lose against Amanda Serrano.

The 38-year-old takes on the Puerto Rican in the biggest rematch in women's boxing history following their fight of the year bout at Madison Square Garden in 2022.

It is reported that Taylor will take home €5.8million from this Friday's fight, which comes on the same card as Mike Tyson's bout with Jake Paul.

It is a lot more than the €3.5 million she was reported to be worth before her first fight with Chantelle Cameron last year. However, her net worth rose considerably after her two fights with the English boxer.

Taylor is sponsored by a number of high-profile brands like Gymshark, TIDL, Allcare Pharmacy, Airwayz, Leone Sport, and more.

But she is selective about what brands she chooses to work with. According to John Trainor, CEO of sports sponsorship consultancy, Onside, Katie Taylor has made the decision to turn down multiple “low six-figure annual deals” from Irish brands.

Promoter Eddie Hearn said similar ahead of Taylor's fight with Karen Elizabeth Carabajal in 2022, stating: "It's an amazing accolade. One of the problems commercially you have with Katie Taylor is the last thing she's ever going to be is a sell-out. She has turned down millions of pounds worth of endorsements over the years because she just won't do it.

"We've taken endorsements to her over the years for this brand and that brand and she's like 'no, not for me'. And I'm like 'no, what about the commission?'

"But on a serious note, she's purer than they come and that's one of the beauties of Katie Taylor.

"People talk about maybe she could do more from a publicity point of view or more commercially. Why not embrace the fact that she's not willing to do that? Because that's really the selling point for me is that you got this unbelievable individual that's so driven by just the sport alone that after a tough couple of weeks in boxing she's a shining example of why this sport is so great."
