Anthony Daly tips Cork to end two decades of hurt and win this year's All-Ireland

Clare legend Anthony Daly has tipped Cork to end 20 years of hurt and claim this year’s All-Ireland.

The Rebels have not won the Liam MacCarthy cup since 2005 but are primed to strike this year after claiming the League on Sunday.

Daly said: "I presume Brian Lohan is sitting at home today thinking, 'how are we going to stop this bit of a juggernaut?’

"The speed of Cork. They're (Cork) the favourites now.

"It's hard to believe - even with Clare winning last year - because we would have said Limerick, with a year off (would have been favourites).

"But now Cork are the favourites.

“We (Clare) will be rank outsiders. That said, there is a good bit of spirit there.”

Daly predicted Limerick and Clare will join Cork as the three teams to qualify from Munster for the All-Ireland series with Kilkenny, Galway and either Offaly or Wexford are his tips to emerge from the Leinster championship.

Daly, speaking on The Sunday Game, said: “The Cats will come out of Leinster. They are not a mile off. Leinster will be competitive. Offaly have impressed but going down would be a disaster for them. Davy and Antrim will be interesting. Kilkenny are definites but the other two places will be very open.”

Fellow pundit Donal Og Cusack added: “Limerick, Cork and Clare are the top three in Munster. There is an asterisk on Clare with Shane O’Donnell being absent.

“Kilkenny are not that far off. It is a long time since they won an All-Ireland. Galway will be better than they were last year and I think Wexford will make it.”
