Shai Hope's ton and Keemo Paul's five wickets helped West Indies beat India by 24 runs in the fourth T20I.

Shai Hope’s stunning unbeaten 102 off 50 balls and Keemo Paul’s five-wicket haul powered West Indies to a 24-run win over India in the fourth T20I in Hyderabad on Wednesday, levelling the series 2-2. India vs West Indies 4th T20I Match Scorecard

India’s chase began brightly through Sanju Samson’s 56 off 23, but Paul struck in the fifth over to dismiss him and then Ishan Kishan for 6. Abhishek Sharma (29) and Shreyas Iyer (16) also fell cheaply, while Tilak Varma and Nitish Reddy’s 70-run stand ended when Varma holed out to Rovman Powell. Reddy fell for 41, and Paul struck twice more in the same over to complete his five-wicket haul.

Paul’s spell proved the difference on a night when India’s bowlers had earlier conceded 52 runs apiece through Mayank Yadav and Arshdeep Singh. With the series now locked at 2-2, the fifth and final T20I in Bengaluru on Saturday becomes a straight shootout, and India will need to address both their death bowling and middle-order struggles if they are to deny West Indies a series win.

IND vs WI 4th T20I Live: Captains during toss

Shreyas Iyer: We are going to bowl first. [On the relaid surface and the reason for bowling first] Yeah, exactly, that's one of the major reasons. We have a fair idea about how it's playing in the first innings. So based on that, we took this decision. [On the groundsman's assessment of the pitch and the expected conditions] He said that it's 75% red and 25% black and we've played on such wickets before. But obviously looking at the conditions and dew not coming into play, it is going to be a little bit of intense and see there's going to be bounce as well to offer because I saw the surface. It's pretty hard. We're going with the same team.

Shai Hope: We would have fielded as well. It's a must-win game, so we need to pull this one back. We need to give a foundation, just being clear about how we want to go. We have to wait and see, looks good. Needs to be open-minded. Two changes for us - Pooran and Sampson are out, Romario and Jewel Andrew are in.
