Australia vs Zimbabwe T20 World Cup 2026 Live Cricket Score Updates: When unbeaten Australia and Zimbabwe face each other in the T20 World Cup 2026 Group B match at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday, one team will join Sri Lanka at the top of the points table with four points from two games and the other team’s winning streak will end only after one victory.

Both Australia and Zimbabwe were clinical in their wins in their respective tournament openers. While Australia thrashed Ireland by 67 runs, Zimbabwe were a notch up to a listless Oman as they won the contest by eight wickets.

The biggest concern for Australia will be the fitness of their skipper, Mitchell Marsh, who was ruled out of the Ireland game moments before the toss after copping a blow to his groin last week that reportedly caused internal testicular bleeding. It was an unusual instance as Australia took the field against Ireland with just 12 players. In Marsh’s absence, Travis Head captained the team with Josh Inglis moving up the order to partner the left-hander.

Before the Indian team left for the Kotla ground for their net session, if they had tuned into watch Australia versus Ireland at the Premadasa stadium, the venue for their highly-anticipated match against Pakistan later this week, they would have got the blueprint to succeed in these slow conditions and the huge outfield. Of course, Ireland is no Pakistan, which has a strong arsenal of spinners, but the way the Australian batsmen batted without rushing into shots and waiting for the ball to come to them and taking ones and twos is worth keeping in mind for Team India.

On a day where they took the field with just 12 fit players available, with captain Mitchell Marsh ruled out moments before the toss on Wednesday because of a blow he suffered to his groin, Australia’s batting unit showed they were not only about big hits.
