Darren Till threatens to kick Tommy Fury in the face, gets hit by water from John Fury

by · MMA FIGHTING

Darren Till and Tommy Fury are ramping up the hype. With some help of John Fury, of course.

On Tuesday, a press conference for the Jan. 18 Till vs. Fury boxing match broke down when Tommy’s father John threw water at Till, leading to a near-confrontation between the fighters’ respective camps.

Till antagonized Tommy Fury’s team, claiming that if he feels like he’s losing their boxing match, he’ll channel his MMA roots and kick Fury in the head.

“I just haven’t seen anything, to be honest with you,” Till said when asked about what he thinks of Fury’s skills. “I’m just going to obliterate him, I am. I’m going to f*cking absolutely do a number on him. I’m going to walk him down and obliterate him.”

When Fury told him that wasn’t going to happen, Till responded with his threat.

“At the end of the day, I can’t beat you, I’ll just kick you in the face in there,” Till said. “How about that?”

“I’m a proper fighter, not a boxer,” Till continued. “I don’t walk in a room like this and see boxing and go, ‘Shit.’ I walk in, no one here is a threat to me. Not one person in this room, security, you, your dad are not a threat to me. I’m an MMA fighter, so if I want to kick you or elbow you in the face, I will, and no one can do anything about it.”

Till went on to boast that previously sparred with Tommy’s brother Tyson Fury. As the trash talk continued, John Fury became involved, agitated by Till talking about his family.

Eventually, a fed-up Fury attempted to splash Till with water from across the stage.

Cooler heads prevailed and no blows were thrown onstage, but a scheduled faceoff between Tommy Fury and Till was cancelled.

Fury vs. Till takes place Jan. 18 in Manchester, England.
