Jiri Prochazka slams rivals Jamahal Hill, Magomed Ankalaev: ‘You didn’t show nothing’

Jiri Prochazka is set for his first fight of 2025, and he’s making it clear he sees himself as the contender to beat at light heavyweight.

A former titleholder, Prochazka dropped the belt to Alex Pereira at UFC 295 and then later lost a rematch to Pereira at UFC 303. Up next for the Czech striking specialist is Jamahal Hill, a rival that has traded words with Prochazka in the past.

Following Prochazka’s first loss to Pereira, Hill stated how unimpressed he was with both fighters. It seems Prochazka hasn’t forgotten those words as he posted a video to social media on Tuesday, slamming his upcoming UFC 311 opponent.

“I’m really looking forward for my next fight,” Prochazka said. “Jamahal, don’t speak about my performances, fight I.Q. and all these things, because in your last fight, you didn’t show nothing, really.”

Hill shares two things in common with Prochazka: They’re both former UFC champions, and they’ve both been on the receiving end of a Pereira knockout. Hill fought Pereira in the main event of UFC 300, succumbing to strikes inside the opening round.

Whoever wins on Jan. 18 isn’t guaranteed another title opportunity, with Pereira flirting with a bout with heavyweight champion Jon Jones, and presumed No. 1 contender Magomed Ankalaev still waiting for his opportunity.

Based on Prochazka’s assessment, Ankalaev should keep waiting.

“This same guy, Ankalaev, in your last three fights, you showed totally nothing, so stay on the ground,” Prochazka said.

Ankalaev is undefeated in 13 straight fights since losing his UFC debut, but the promotion is yet to commit to him as the next opponent for Pereira.

For Prochazka’s part, he’s not angling for another title shot just yet, with his focus solely on kicking off 2025 with a win over Hill.

“That’s it, 18th of January, I’m going to win,” Prochazka said.
