UFC Des Moines live blog: Reinier de Ridder vs. Bo Nickal

This is the live blog for Reinier de Ridder vs. Bo Nickal, the middleweight co-main event for UFC Des Moines at the Wells Fargo Arena.

De Ridder, a former two-division ONE Championship titleholder, makes his third walk to the octagon since November. “RDR” submitted Gerald Meerschaert in the third round of his UFC debut at UFC Vegas 100, and followed that up with a quick submission win against Kevin Holland at UFC 311 in January—his third straight victory. The 19-2 de Ridder is currently ranked No. 13 in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings.

Nickal is undefeated as a mixed martial artist and prepares for the toughest fight of his career. The Penn State wrestling legend has won all four of his promotional bouts, and is coming off of a decision win against Paul Craig at UFC 309 in November, a performance that left a lot to be desired in the eyes of many.
