The Flying Eagles of Nigeria continued their campaign at the ongoing U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt with a goalless draw against Morocco in their second game.

The young Eagles came into the match off the back of a narrow 1-0 win over Tunisia in their opening match to start the campaign on a winning note.

Head coach Aliy Zubairu made changes to his starting lineup from the first match, with Israel Ayuma and Precious Benjamin replacing Caleb Ochedikwu and Kparobo Arierhi.

Both teams won their opening matches and were fighting for the right to have a perfect start and lead the group, but it ended in a stalemate.

As noted by CAF Online, the two sides engaged in intense physical and tactical battles and showed a lot of attacking promise, but the match was marked by multiple fouls, stoppages, and missed chances.

In conflicting terms, thenff.com described the match as a drab stalemate as the promised fireworks and entertainment were not on display.

Morocco's chances in the match fell to Fouad Zahouani and Ayman Arguigue in the second half, while Nigeria had their chances through Israel Ayuma and Emmanuel Chukwu.

Today's draw put Nigeria second in Group B, tied on points with Morocco, who have scored more goals. The North African team beat Kenya 3-2 in their opening match, while the West Africans have one goal.

Flying Eagles defender Daniel Bameyi was named the official man of the match for his solid defending, which helped Nigeria keep a clean sheet and avoid defeat.

The two sides suffered injuries, with Morocco's Hossam Essadak and Nigeria's Divine Oliseh giving their managers worries after limping off the pitch.

Up next on the final matchday is a North African affair between Tunisia and Morocco, while Nigeria will take on East African side Kenya.

The group's qualification to the next round is yet to be decided, and all teams will have to wait until the final day to learn their fate.

Tunisia beat Kenya 3-1 in the other fixture to revive their hopes, but the Rising Stars could still reach the knockout stage despite having zero points, if they beat Nigeria and finish third.

Only Nigeria, Tunisia and Morocco could still finish in the top two and most importantly, as the group winner.
