Blockbuster NBA Deal Sees Dallas Mavericks Trade Luka Dončić to Los Angeles Lakers

This just in, the Dallas Mavericks are sending Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers. In a shocking blockbuster deal that sees Dončić, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris head to the Lakers, the Mavs are receiving Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 first-round pick.

According to ESPN own Shams Charania, sources have confirmed to him that the move is happening. While many fans have taken to social media to announce their surprise, Charania doubles down in a message to fans on his X account stating, “Yes, this is real.” This is a three-team deal that is also slated to include the Utah Jazz.

The Slovenian basketball player was drafted in 2018 by the Atlanta Hawks and traded to the Mavs as the third overall pick. Since the beginning of his career, he has been a Mavs player and over the course of his time with Dallas he was selected to the NBA All-Rookie First Team and won Rookie of the Year. He has also been selected to five consecutive NBA All-Star games and five All-NBA First Team selections and led the NBA in scoring in the 2023-24 season. He is also the Mavericks’ franchise leader in career triple-doubles and also holds the record for most points in a Mavericks season.
