Pirates had the chance to level matters in the second half when Mokoena fouled Yanela Mbuthuma in the box.

Despite being one of the new signings, Lungu stepped up ahead of the likes of Oswin Appollis but ended up seeing his spot-kick saved by Ronwen Williams.

“He’s one of the designated takers,” the coach told SABC Sport.

“Of the players he was first in the takers and after we have Appollis, but it’s moments like that, it’s football. We have to respect."

The Buccaneers coach did also feel the penalty miss was a big moment in the final.

"There is a disappointment not to take this fifth MTN8 final. The penalty was the most important moment that could have changed the game and unfortunately, we didn't score it," he said.
