The World Baseball Classic is down to the quarterfinals, with some expected heavy-hitters, including the U.S. and Japan, competing for a title. There are some surprises, too, including Italy, whose dominant showing nearly knocked the U.S. out of the competition.
Before the U.S. can advance, it’ll have to face its northern rival, Canada. The Dominican Republic is playing South Korea to settle the first semifinal bracket. On March 14, Puerto Rico will play Italy, and Venezuela will face Japan to settle the second semifinal bracket.

How to Watch the U.S. vs. Canada World Baseball Classic Quarterfinal
The U.S. and Canada face off at 8 p.m. ET, with the match airing on Fox. Unsurprisingly, Canada will have extra motivation to beat the U.S. at the American pastime, given Team USA’s back-to-back wins in the men’s and women’s Olympic hockey tournaments.
Team USA has had a somewhat uneven showing, falling 8-6 against Italy. Because of Italy’s dominant win over Mexico, the U.S. was able to squeak out of the group stage. Canada, meanwhile, advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time in its history of competing at the World Baseball Classic.
