Saints Rookie WR Jordyn Tyson Expected To Miss 2 Months With Hamstring Injury
· FOX SportsNew Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is expected to miss approximately two months after sustaining a hamstring injury last week, according to NFL Network.
The estimated recovery timeline means the first-round draft pick's availability for the start of the regular season is in serious doubt as he begins his rehabilitation program.
The injury reportedly occurred during a joint practice against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week when Tyson caught a pass, slipped, and received contact from behind. Saints head coach Kellen Moore clarified that this hamstring injury is unrelated to the previous hamstring issues Tyson managed during his collegiate career.
Injury concerns previously followed Tyson during his college tenure at Colorado and Arizona State, where he missed 17 games. A severe multi-ligament knee tear ended his 2022 freshman season and restricted his 2023 appearances, while a collarbone fracture in 2024 and a hamstring strain in 2025 caused further missed time.
During his final collegiate season at Arizona State last year, Tyson earned first-team All-Big 12 and third-team Associated Press All-American honors after recording 61 receptions for 711 yards and eight touchdowns across nine total games.
With Tyson expected to remain sidelined through August and into September, Tyson could begin the season on short-term Injured Reserve, should the Saints choose to go that route.
The Saints open their season by facing the Detroit Lions on Sept. 13.
