2026 World Baseball Classic MVP Odds: Judge Favored; Acuña Jr. Rising

Shohei Ohtani captured MVP in the 2023 World Baseball Classic after leading Japan to its third WBC title in the most spectacular fashion.

However, Japan is out, meaning Ohtani's MVP campaign is no more.

The Favorite: Aaron Judge opened as the favorite pre-tournament, before Shohei Ohtani moved to the front of the pack. However, defending champion Japan lost in the quarterfinals, and Judge is now atop the board once again. Not only is Aaron the favorite, but he has moved to +275 from +850 since the USA got past the Dominican Republic in the semifinal round. In six games, he has two home runs and has a batting average of .261.

Ones to Watch: Skyrocketing is Acuna, who led Venezuela to an upset win over Japan in the quarterfinals. In that game, he hit a lead-off home run off World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Now, his country is expected to make it to the WBC title game, entering its game with Italy on Sunday as 1.5-run favorites. The winner will take on the winner of the USA and the Dominican Republic.
