Sri Lanka vs Australia, 1st Test: Josh Inglis became the first Australian batter in 10 years to hit a hundred on Test debut. The 29-year-old got to his maiden three-figure score in just 90 balls as Australia went past 600 in their first innings.

Josh Inglis became the 21st Australian batter to hit a hundred on his debut in men's Tests. The 29-year-old Western Australian batter smashed a 90-ball hundred as Australia continued their run feast on Day 2 of their first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.

Josh Inglis also became the first Australian batter since Adam Voges in 2015 to hit a Test hundred on debut. The wicketkeeper-batter smashed 102 from just 94 balls, hitting 10 boundaries and a six. Josh Inglis joined the likes of Greg Chappell, Mark Waugh, Michael Clarke and Shaun Marsh in the elite list of Australian batters with hundreds on Test debut.

Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith were unbeaten overnight, and they continued to plunder the Sri Lankan batters on Thursday. Khawaja went on to hit a double hundred, becoming the first Australian to do so in a Test match in Sri Lanka. Khawaja hit 232 before he was dismissed by Prabath Jayasuriya on Thursday. Smith went on to make 141 in 251 balls as the stand-in captain flaunted his command over the Sri Lankan spinners.

Inglis scored at a rapid pace as Australia went past the 550-run mark, making a strong start to their two-Test series in Sri Lanka.

Inglis' parents, who were in Galle on Thursday, blew flying kisses to their son from the stands after the batter completed his hundred.

Inglis also joined an exclusive list of six visiting batters with hundreds in their Test debut, which came in Sri Lanka.
