Vaibhav Suryavanshi to play in India U-19 squad for England tour

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the young sensation, has been selected to for the India U-19 squad for the England tour after previously performing exceptionally well in the IPL 2025 campaign. The 14-year-old burst onto the scene in the IPL and broke records, putting on a batting display that left fans in awe with an aggressive shot-making approach, including one warm-up match 100 against GT. Suryavanshi’s stupendous run in the IPL led to his selection to join CSK’s Ayush Mhatre who was appointed captain of the side.
The India U-19 squad will compete in a warm-up game, followed by 5 Youth ODIs and 2 multi-day matches against England U-19, from June 24 to July 23, 2025. For Suryavanshi, selection in the squad is a huge opportunity as he has made it clear he wants to represent the Indian senior team soon. This U-19 tour could double as an audition for the budding talent.
The squad is stacked with many talented young cricketers including Vihaan Malhotra, Maulyarajsinh Chavda and Abhigyan Kundu, who has been appointed vice-captain and wicketkeeper. Notable players include Harvansh Singh, R S Ambrish and Pranav Raghavendra. Standby players are Naman Pushpak, D Deepesh and Vedant Trivedi.
Suryavanshi’s IPL 2025 campaign was an outstanding one. After being bought as the youngest player in the history of the auction, he scored 252 runs at an average of 36 and a strike-rate of 206.56 in just seven matches.
