Champions Trophy 2025: BCCI announces whopping prize money of Rs 58 crore for Indian team

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a prize money of Rs 58 crore for the Indian team that won the Champions Trophy 2025. On March 9, team India beat New Zealand and lifted the Champions Trophy 2025 cup.
It is worth mentioning here that it was India’s third title after 2002 and 2013. In return and as a gesture of appreciation the BCCI has announced a whopping prize money of Rs 58 crore for the team.
Other than the above amount, the prize money for Champions Trophy set by ICC was 6.9 million US dollars or 60 crores for the entire tournament. Each team participating in the tournament got Rs. 1.08 crores. The team that won the Champions Trophy final that is India got Rs. 19.49 crore.
Similarly, the team that lost the final that is New Zealand got Rs. 9.74 crore. Similarly, the losing team in the semi-finals got Rs 4.87 crore. Australia and South Africa were also be awarded. The team that was eliminated from the group stage also got a prize. The teams that finished in 5th and 6th place will got an equal prize money of Rs 3.04 crore. The teams that finished in 7th and 8th place got Rs 1.21 crore.
Prize money for the Champions Trophy:
Champions Trophy winning team: Rs. 19.49 crore
Champions Trophy runner-up team: Rs. 9.74 crore
Teams eliminated in the semi-finals: Rs. 4.87 crore
Teams placed 5th and 6th: Rs. 3.04 crore
Teams placed 7th and 8th: Rs. 1.21 crore
Earnings per match won in the group stage: Rs. 29.5 lakh
Post the announcement by BCCI, Roger Binny, President, BCCI told ANI, “Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special and this reward recognizes Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage. The cash award is a recognition of the hard work that everyone puts in behind the scenes. This was also our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup triumph and it highlights the strong cricketing ecosystem in place in our country.”
Devajit Saikia, Honorary Secretary, BCCI said, “The BCCI is proud to honour the players and support staff with this well-deserved reward. Their dominance in world cricket is a result of years of hard work and strategic execution. This victory has justified India’s top ranking in white-ball cricket, and we are sure the team will continue to excel in the years to come. Rajeev Shukla, Vice-President, BCCI said, “This cash reward is a tribute to the outstanding performances delivered by the team throughout the tournament. The players exhibited remarkable composure under pressure, and their success is an inspiration to aspiring cricketers across the country.
