Virat Kohli sets record, becomes the fastest player to achieve 28,000 runs in international cricket

Vadodara: Virat Kohli becomes the fastest player to achieve 28,000 runs in his 624th innings in international cricket surpassing legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

This milestone was achieved by Kohli yesterday, during the first match in ODI series against New Zealand at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara entering in Elite club alongside Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara.

Former Indian Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar achieved this milestone in 644 innings and Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lankan Former Cricketer) managed to do the same in 666th innings.

Kohli scored 93 runs in first ODI match against New Zealand leading india to a smooth win.
Earlier in February 2023, Kohli became the fastest batter to reach 25,000 runs in international cricket in just 549 innings. Again in October 2023 achieved 26,000 runs and in 2024 he reached 27,000 runs.
