Inigo Calderon details 'relief' after Bristol Rovers' key win over Peterborough in dogfight
by Daniel Hargraves · BristolLiveInigo Calderon has confessed that his immediate feeling after Bristol Rovers' 3-1 win over Peterborough United was "relief" as the Gas eased relegation concerns with a comfortable victory at the Mem on Sunday afternoon.
James Wilson poked home from a corner to hand the Gas the lead on 16 minutes with Isaac Hutchinson and Ruel Sotiriou adding goals in the second half in a largely dominant display.
Posh did add a late consolation through Ricky-Jade Jones but it was a comprehensive victory for Rovers against a side that had been just one place and two points above them in the league table going into Sunday's game.
"Well, relief again," Calderon confessed post-match when reflecting on the win. "When you are down there, it's more than joy. You just feel relief. I think the boys have been trying so hard and even before, against Charlton I said that when something bad is happening, we look worse than the reality.
"I think we are a better side, but you have to show that you have to stay in the game, whatever happens. So I think today was a good day. I think it was a quite good performance.
"Overall, we were better out of possession. I think we defended better. When I say defend, I don't just mean the back four. It's everyone. I think the press was better today. We defended with more desire. So I think it was better and after with the ball we have better spells so that's more the team that I would like to see."

There had been plenty of nerves going into the game based on the league standings, particularly after Northampton Town, Shrewsbury Town and Cambridge United picked up points on Saturday afternoon.
Rovers' situation is still uncomfortable but the clash with Peterborough was the first of a crucial run of fixtures as well as three consecutive home matches.
The Gas' advantage over the bottom-four now stands at six points after it had been slashed to three following back-to-back away defeats as well as results elsewhere on Sunday.
However, Calderon's stance on studying the league table has remained the same with the Rovers head coach insisting he didn't look at Saturday's results, saying: "Trust me, I didn't even check the results from yesterday. Well, my son does but I try not to listen because I don't care.
"You tell me now, I didn't know it was six points. I don't know anything about the table or the scores. I don't check them because I think we have enough things to improve and for me that's the main thing, to focus on ourselves.
"I mean that. I don't waste time watching the table, the scores. It's just us, us and us."
