Bristol Rovers player ratings vs Burton: Ward leads turnaround from bench as Forde gets off mark

Bristol Rovers came from 1-0 down at half-time to win 3-1 away at 10-man Burton Albion

Josh Griffiths - 7

Having not seen a replay, in real time the goalkeeper didn't look to cover himself in glory for Burton's opening goal with miscommunication between himself and Clinton Mola. However, the West Brom loanee made some crucial claims throughout the remainder of the contest which helped Bristol Rovers turn the game around and take the three points.

Connor Taylor - 7

After an okay first half, the defender was outstanding throughout the second. A goal from a set-piece will come eventually.

James Wilson - 7

Similar to Taylor. A rock at the back in the second half.

Clinton Mola - 7

Again, without yet seeing a replay we won't go too hard on it but the defender didn't seem to cover himself in glory for Burton's goal. However, he made ammends with an outstanding volley to hand Rovers the lead. Defensively was solid throughout the second half.

Jack Hunt (off for Taylor Moore 61') - 6

Not quite at the standard he set on Tuesday night but still one of Rovers' more positive players of the first half. A couple slips in there but was a big part of the strong start to the second half. Likely off to manage his fitness.

Kamil Conteh - 7

Another improved display in the middle of the pitch after looking more like himself on Tuesday night. Will have to cut out the yellow cards but was a presence within Rovers' nucleus.

Jamie Lindsay (off for Grant Ward 51') - 6

Looked tired towards the end of the first half. Had a few nice link up moments and delivered some dangerous-looking set-pieces before seemingly running out of gas early in the second period.

Bryant Bilongo (off for Shaq Forde 51') - 6

Another one of Rovers' more positive players in the first half. Always looked to play the forward ball and drive towards Burton's goal.

Scott Sinclair - 6

Zipped around and was a nuisance to deal with. Should probably be coming away with a third goal in as many matches. Led by example throughout.

Ruel Sotiriou (off for Luke McCormick 70') - 6

Unlucky not to equalise late in the first half. Did a lot of running but it didn't quite have the same effect as it has done recently.

Promise Omochere (off for Gatlin O'Donkor 70') - 6

Pushing a seven. So, so good at holding the ball up and then playing it out to a teammate but also lost the ball too easily on a few occasions.

Substitutions:

Shaq Forde (on 51') - 8

Did exactly what his manager would've asked for when going on and did it almost immediately. Could've had an assist with one of his first touches and soon after fired home an equaliser with a cracking first-time finish. Only criticism would be how easily he was knocked off the ball when defending towards the end.

Grant Ward (on 51') - 9

Definition of an impact substitute. Would have no doubt been disappointed not to start but came on and brought a much-needed zip to Rovers' play. Got the assists for the first two goals and then fired home the decisive third. Led by example in the middle of the pitch.

Taylor Moore (on 61') - 7

Another who led by example with the way he defended his goal as the Gas held on to their lead.

Gatlin O'Donkor (on 70') - 7

Could've scored to make it 3-1. Had a few nice hold up moments and drew the foul that saw the hosts go down to 10 men. Got the assist for Ward's goal.

Luke McCormick (on 70') - 6

A couple of lively moments. Playing well but there's real competition in his position now.
