According to the latest development, it is being established that the auction for the IPL 2026 is likely to be held between December 13-15. These are the tentative dates for the upcoming IPL auction, and an official announcement could be out soon.
There are also reports that the last date for the franchise to announce their retentions is November 15. This essentially means that the teams must prepare the list of retained players by November 15, which is roughly a month before the actual auction.
While the topic is about player retention, there is a lot of debate happening surrounding top teams like Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru. As usual, everyone is debating about which players will be returned by these top sides.
Mumbai is anyway, likely to retain Hardik Pandya, Surya Kumar Yadav, Bumrah and others. Chennai will retain Ruturaj Gaikwad, Dhoni and Jadeja. Bengaluru is likely to keep hold of captain Rajat Patidar, Virat Kohli, amongst others.
The final list of retentions will be out in roughly a month from now, and this will potentially set the stage for the upcoming auction in December.
