Nottingham Forest are said to be ready to offer Ola Aina a new contract at the City Ground.

The Reds only extended his current deal during the summer to keep him at the club for this season, following an impressive debut campaign. But it is understood they already want to tie him down to a longer contract after a brilliant start to the new Premier League season.

Aina has started all of Forest’s opening four matches in the top flight, helping them make an unbeaten start. The Nigeria international helped the Reds keep a clean sheet as they pulled off a famous win against Liverpool at Anfield last time out.

Now the Reds are expected to open talks with him in the coming weeks in an attempt to ensure he stays at the club beyond next summer, according to reports in Nigeria.

Speaking about his new contract in the summer, Aina said: “I’ve been really happy with my time spent here at Forest and the fans have been great. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the future holds.”
