Huge Morgan Gibbs-White and Tottenham update emerges as Nottingham Forest 'cease all communication'
by Brian Dick · NottinghamshireLiveMorgan Gibbs-White’s transfer to Tottenham Hotspur is ‘off for now’.
That’s according to Sky Sports who claim Nottingham Forest ‘have ceased all communication’ with Spurs, the broadcasters further allege they have made contact with their lawyers.
The report adds ‘Forest believe Spurs made an illegal approach’ and claims the Reds suspect a ‘breach in confidentiality around his release clause’.
Reports of Tottenham’s interest in the 25-year-old emerged yesterday and quickly accelerated, with claims the play-maker is even set for a medical on Friday. A fee of £60million has been reported – and cited as the exact figure of his release clause.
Gibbs-White has been at Forest for the last three seasons and has established himself as one of the leading play-makers in the Premier League, earning a call-up to the England team as well as the captaincy of the club.
He has two years left on the contract he signed when he joined Forest from Wolves in August 2022.
Forest have declined to comment.
