Nottingham Forest team news confirmed as Ange Postecoglou rings the changes for Swansea City cup tie
by Sarah Clapson · NottinghamshireLiveHead coach Ange Postecoglou has named his Nottingham Forest team to face Swansea City in tonight’s Carabao Cup tie.
The Reds have made the trip to south Wales eager to get their new head coach’s tenure properly up and running. Postecoglou’s first game in charge did not go how he had hoped on Saturday as his team fell to a 3-0 defeat at Arsenal.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis spoke of targeting trophies when Postecoglou’s appointment was announced last week. The League Cup, therefore, is very much viewed as an opportunity for Forest to push for silverware.
Due to their European commitments, the Reds have entered the competition at the third round stage. It is their first visit to Swansea since 2021, when they triumphed 4-1 in the Championship.
Postecoglou has rung the changes for this evening’s clash. Morato is the only survivor from the weekend’s loss.
Goalkeeper John Victor makes his Forest debut, as does left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko. Nicolo Savona, Willy Boly and Morato will make up the back line.

Douglas Luiz is handed his first appearance and will partner Ryan Yates in midfield. Dilane Bakwa, James McAtee and Omari Hutchinson will provide attacking support for front man Igor Jesus.
Postecoglou has named a strong bench against the Swans. Angus Gunn, Ibrahim Sangare, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Taiwo Awoniyi, Morgan Gibbs-White, Dan Ndoye, Arnaud Kalimuendo, Jair Cunha and Zach Abbott will make up the substitutes’ list.
Forest: Victor; Savona, Boly, Morato, Zinchenko; Yates, Luiz; Bakwa, McAtee, Hutchinson; Jesus. Subs: Gunn, Sangare, Hudson-Odoi, Awoniyi, Gibbs-White, Ndoye, Kalimuendo, Cunha, Abbott.
