Feilding High School 1st XV Rugby Team To Compete At Prestigious Sanix World Rugby Youth Tournament In Japan
by FAHS Rugby · SCOOPFeilding High School is proud to announce that its 1st XV Rugby team has officially accepted an invitation to participate in the Sanix World Rugby Youth Tournament, widely regarded as the only ‘World Cup’ for high school rugby players.
Over the years, it has welcomed teams from 23 different countries and regions, serving as a stepping stone for future internationals including Japan’s Timothy Lafaele, England’s Jack Nowell, South Africa’s JP Pietersen, and New Zealand All Blacks Owen Franks, Colin Slade, and Matt Todd. The tournament will be held in Fukuoka, Japan from April 26 to May 1, 2026.
The Sanix World Rugby Youth Tournament brings together elite high school rugby teams from across the globe, offering players the opportunity to compete at the highest level, experience diverse playing styles, and build international friendships through the sport. Feilding High School’s inclusion highlights the team’s strong performances and reputation as one of New Zealand’s leading rugby schools.
Principal Nathan Stewart expressed pride in the team’s achievement:
