Bihar cricket team have created history by recording the highest innings total in the history of List A cricket. Vaibhav Suryavanshi and co. achieved the feat in their Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025/26 tournament opener against Arunachal Pradesh on December 24. Bihar went past Tamil Nadu’s previous best of 506/2, finishing with a mammoth 1st innings total of 574/6.

Highest total in List A cricket

Tamil Nadu previously held the record for the highest total in a List A game, having amassed a mammoth 506/2 1st innings total in the game against Arunachal Pradesh in 2022. However, Suryavanshi’s fiery 190-run knock helped Bihar get off to a flying start, with the team breaching the 200-run mark within the 1st 15 overs.

Suryavanshi fell just 10 runs short of what would have been a well deserved double century. His knock came off just 84 deliveries and was studded with 16 fours and 15 sixes. However, Suryavanshi’s dismissal didn’t stop Bihar from ensuring that the scorecard surged ahead in rapid-fast pace.

Bihar captain S Gani scored a century off just 32 deliveries, surpassing Suryavanshi’s record. Apart from the aforementioned duo, keeper-batter Ayush Loharuka also slammed a 116-run knock, helping Bihar amass a mammoth 574/6 total at the end of 50 overs.
