Will Mayank Yadav play against MI? LSG drop hint ahead of Wankhede clash
by Koushik Narayanan · Inside Sport IndiaMayank Yadav is yet to make his comeback in IPL 2025
Mayank Yadav is yet to make his comeback after linking up with LSG earlier this month. The injury-prone pacer missed the first half of IPL 2025 as he was recovering from an injury and there was a delay in him getting clearance from BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE). While he was benched for LSG’s last two games despite being a part of the squad, the team has provided an update on when he could be in action next.
Mayank Yadav to be unleashed against MI?
Taking to social media platform X, LSG dropped a subtle hint on Mayank’s availability for the clash against MI. A post with the caption, “Kal dikhega tabadtod andaz” has fuelled speculations among fans.
Mayank was expected to regain fitness before the India vs. England series in January, but even after five months of rehabilitation, the speedster hadn’t recovered. He also suffered a toe injury earlier in March, leading to a delay in his comeback.
Mayank had impressed everyone with his ability to go over 150 km consistently, and that too with losing his line and length. A skill is rare among speedsters. However, the injury wasn’t far still. Mayank sustained a side strain injury after just 2 matches. He returned but couldn’t; two matches later, he was injured once again. After playing just 4 matches and bowling just 73 balls, his maiden IPL season was done.
