LSG predicted playing XI vs GT: Digvesh Rathi suspended, will Pant drop himself?

by · Inside Sport India

LSG have nothing to lose in their tie against GT, except perhaps one more game, as they are already out of IPL 2025 playoffs race

Lucknow Super Giants will be playing for pride as they take on a dominant Gujarat Titans in their penultimate league stage match. Rishabh Pant and co. have been extremely inconsistent in IPL 2025, with the captain himself going through a rough patch. The only damage that LSG can do to GT is hand them an upset to hamper their chances of staying at the top of the points table.

LSG will be without the services of spinner Digvesh Rathi. The bowler, a repeat offender with his wild celebration, was suspended following the last game. As a result, LSG will now have only Bishnoi to depend on as a specialist spinner. For the record, Digvesh is LSG’s best bowler in this season, with 14 wickets to his name from 12 matches.

It also remains to be seen with captain Pant will do a Rohit Sharma by dropping himself from the tie against GT. The southpaw has scored only 135 runs in 12 games, averaging a miserable 12.27. He has been dismissed for a single digit score in four out of LSG’s last five outings.

It could very well make sense if he decides to drop himself and hand over the reins of the team to either Pooran or Badoni.
