Shreyas Iyer won the toss and asked the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to bat first in the first match of the IPL 2025 in Lucknow. At the toss, Iyer said that there’s a player making his Punjab Kings (PBKS) debut. He was talking about Lockie Ferguson, who will add fiery pace in the PBKS bowling attack that already has Marco Jansen and Arshdeep Singh.

What did Shreyas Iyer say at toss?

“We will bowl first. Obviously new ground, new wicket, we need to get a fair idea on how the wicket is going to play. Dew could be a factor, it’s a red soil surface. We want all the players to go and express themselves. You play the situation and whatever suits you. It’s about keeping things simple, you have to adapt to the conditions. The sooner we adapt, the better it is. We have one change. Lockie comes in.”
