SRH bench Travis Head? Kamindu Mendis makes IPL 2025 debut as Cummins bowls 1st vs KKR

Catch how the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are lining up in their IPL 2025 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) playing XI won’t feature Travis Head. However, SRH’s fans need not worry as the Australia maestro is named in the Impact sub-options. SRH skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and asked the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to bat first at Eden Gardens. Since SRH are batting second, Head is certain to come out as an Impact sub in the second innings when it is his side’s chance to bat.

Travis Head to replace Ansari/Simarjeet in 2nd innings

Simarjeet Singh also plays this game on a deck that could favour spinners. He’s a superb new-ball bowler and can partner Harshal Patel at the death. Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami and Pat Cummins are the two other pacers. As for spinners, Zeeshan Ansari and Abhishek Sharma are the options. Ansari had a superb IPL debut when he took a three-wicket haul in a loss against DC.

What did Pat Cummins say at the toss?

“We will bowl. Looks like a good surface, but I’m terrible at reading it. They outplayed us in the final, but a bit of change in both sides. We’ve spoken about our batting, we’ve been at our best while being aggressive, but we can’t be reckless. He has been amazing, doesn’t get unfazed by any situation. Coordination is the key, but we do have a clear idea.”
