Kuldeep Yadav is all set to return to competitive cricket after being on the sidelines for months owing to an injury. The spinner confirmed that he will take the field in Uttar Pradesh’s final group stage match against Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy on January 30. Yadav, who last played in IND vs NZ Test series last year, will be looking to put his fitness to test in the contest as he sets his sights on the upcoming IND vs ENG ODIs and ICC Champions Trophy.
Kuldeep Yadav confirms Ranji return
Speaking to Times of India, Kuldeep said that he will be making his comeback after spending three months at the NCA. He said that he was excited to join his teammates for the final group stage match of the Ranji Trophy. The spinner’s return will come as a huge boost for Uttar Pradesh.
“I am making a comeback after three months since my injury during the India-New Zealand Test series, and I was in rehab at the National Cricket Academy. It feels great to return for the last Ranji match, and I am very excited to be back on the ground with my team,” Kuldeep said.

Further, Kuldeep revealed that he was looking forward to playing in the ODIs. Talking about his fitness, the spinner said that he had put in a lot of work in his recovery and claimed that he was fully fit now.
“I am taking it step by step. I am fit and have worked a lot on my fitness. I have done a lot of bowling in the nets. I want to maintain good fitness as I look forward to playing in the ODIs,” he added.
Yadav’s last Ranji Trophy match came in January 2024 when he was a part of the side that took on Kerala. The spinner has played 18 matches in the Ranji Trophy and has 65 wickets to his name so far.
