Yuvraj Singh backs Rohit Sharma to “single handedly” win IND vs PAK clash in Champions Trophy

Just a day remains before the start of the India vs Pakistan clash in the ICC Champions Trophy. Currently, Pakistan’s place in the ICC event hangs on a balance. Former India star Yuvraj Singh has come on to back Indian skipper Rohit Sharma claiming him to be a very dangerous player. Yuvraj further claimed that even not in his peak form, Rohit can single-handedly win the game against their arch-rivals.
Team India will take on Pakistan on Sunday in Dubai. Both teams are at contrasting odds. The hosts were handed a 60-run defeat in their opening game against New Zealand. On the other hand, India dominated and won their first game against Bangladesh by 6 wickets. As things go for the match, it is Pakistan who leads the Head-To-Head records in the Champions Trophy by a slender margin of 3-2.
Hitman can fire on all cylinders
“In ODIs and white-ball formats, he has been India’s biggest match-winner alongside Virat Kohli. If he is struggling but still gets runs, that is dangerous for the opposition. If he is in form, he will score a century in 60 balls. That is his quality — once he gets going, it’s not just about fours, but also clearing the ropes with sixes,” Yuvraj Singh said on JioHotstar.
Yuvraj Singh also went on to heap huge praises for the Hitman. He claimed that Rohit’s sheer ability to play short-pitched bowling makes him a beast. Rohit also has a very good record against Pakistan. He already has 2 centuries and 8 half-centuries. The Indian skipper has amassed 873 runs from 19 ODI matches and a very good average of 51.35.
“Even if someone bowls at 145-150 kmph, Rohit has the ability to hook it effortlessly. His strike rate is always between 120-140, and on his day, he can single-handedly win you the game,” Yuvraj Singh concluded.
