PBKS vs DC to be replayed in Jaipur, BCCI announces revised IPL 2025 schedule

Punjab Kings will play all of their remaining games in Jaipur when IPL 2025 resumes.

IPL 2025 is back on course after BCCI and the IPL Governing Council announced a revised schedule on Tuesday. A total of 17 matches will be played across 6 venues. The final is set for June 3, a week after the original date. The PBKS vs DC game, which was abandoned midway in Dharamsala, will be replayed in its entirety in Jaipur.

The IPL 2025 is set to resume from May 17, with the remaining fixtures set to be played across 6 venues. The tournament was suspended on May 7 during the PBKS vs DC match in Dharamsala. With escalating tensions between India and Pakistan on the order, a decision to halt the tournament for a week was taken.

Now with the ceasefire achieved, the BCCI have agreed on a schedule to resume the league. The PBKS vs DC game, which was abandoned, will be replayed entirely in Jaipur. Punjab Kings had batted 10.2 overs in Dharamsala before the match was stopped. Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya both scored 50s, but will have to start all over again. The game is scheduled for May 24 and could have a huge bearing on the race for the IPL 2025 playoffs.

Given the 10-day gap between the league’s suspension and resumption, a decision to replay the entire game was taken. With Dharamsala not being considered for hosting the revised schedule, it was the likely outcome. Furthermore, the availability of players, coaches and staff could change. That meant a complete reset was the perfect solution. The only other outcome could have been shared points, but it would massively alter the IPL 2025 playoff scenarios.

Punjab Kings had two games at Dharamsala, both of which have been moved to Jaipur. The Kings will also play the Rajasthan Royals, also at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
