Abhishek Sharma misses fastest T20I century for India in record-holder Rohit Sharma’s home
by Naman Jain · Inside Sport IndiaAbhishek Sharma clubbed his half-century in just a mere 17 balls before racking up his hundred in 37 balls.
Abhishek Sharma brought the roof down and put on a historic knock in front of a jam-packed Wankhede Stadium in the ongoing fifth T20I against England. India have no dearth of pure talent and Abhishek is a pure testament to that, as the southpaw turned up with a magnificent century in just 37 balls. He operated at just another level, hammering English bowlers for fun. Whether it was the 150 kmph by Wood and Archer or some guile of Rashid, Abhishek was unplayable. He is now India’s second-fastest centurion after Rohit Sharma, who hit his T20I century against Sri Lanka in 35 balls.
