Barely three days after he was fired by Triangle as head coach, Luke Masomere has been appointed technical director for Central Region Division One League side Hardrock FC.

Although details of his new contract with Hardrock have not been disclosed, Masomere is expected to guide Hardrock’s technical team, led by head coach Calvin Maphosa.

Speaking after joining Hardrock, Masomere said, “I feel very much honoured to be here. I promise to meet the targets set by the club and I will have to work very hard to achieve that. I won’t do it alone; we are going to do it as a team.

“The players will play their part and as the technical we will also play our part as well as the executive and the sponsor, so it’s a collective thing. I think we will work well together and produce the desired results.”

Masomere is a seasoned coach who has won several titles in Zimbabwean football. In 2018, he guided Manica Diamonds to a promotion into the top-flight league after winning the Eastern Region Division One League title.

Last year, Vahombe won the same title with his former club Triangle, which he parted ways with earlier this week.

Masomere made history in 2003 when he won the PSL championship with Amazulu.

Commenting on Masomere’s appointment Hardrock spokesperson, Garikayi Matava said, “Masomere brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, with a proven track record.

“As the Technical Director, he will be heading up the technical team and providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.”
