Nuri Sahin has been sacked by Borussia Dortmund after just seven months in charge.

The Turkish boss - who played more than 250 games for the club - replaced Edin Terzic in the hotseat back in June, just weeks after the Bundesliga giants lost 2-0 to Real Madrid in the Champions League Final. But Dortmund chiefs decided to wield the axe in the wake of Tuesday night's 2-1 loss away to Bologna - their fourth consecutive defeat.

Former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has already been linked with the role. Struggling Dortmund - who thrashed Celtic 7-1 back in October - are expected to confirm Sahin's departure soon.
